Built for Solopreneurs, by a Solopreneur
Solo Tool Guide exists for one reason: to help you run a smarter one-person business.
There are thousands of AI tools out there. Most reviews are written by people who’ve never actually used them to run a business — they’re written by SEO teams chasing search volume, not operators chasing results. Solo Tool Guide is different. Every tool we cover is evaluated through the lens of someone building and operating a business alone, with the same constraints you have: limited time, limited budget, and no team to delegate to.
We ask the questions that matter to solopreneurs: Does it save real time? Is the pricing fair for a one-person operation? Can a non-technical founder get results on day one? Everything else gets cut.
Why “Solopreneur” Specifically
The internet is full of advice for “small businesses” and “freelancers” — but solopreneurs are a different species. A small business has employees. A freelancer is paid for hours. A solopreneur builds something that can run beyond any single hour of their time, alone — products, content, audiences, systems. The tools that work for those other categories are often the wrong tools for us.
This site is for the operator who is the entire org chart: CEO, marketer, writer, accountant, customer support, and IT — all before lunch.
How We Rank Tools
Every tool that earns a spot on this site has to score well across four criteria:
- Time savings — Does it save at least 2 hours per week of real solopreneur work?
- Pricing — Is it priced for a one-person operation, not an enterprise?
- Accessibility — Can a non-technical founder get results on day one?
- Real-world impact — Do the results show up in the first week of use?
Tools that fail any of these criteria get cut, no matter how popular they are. We update our rankings monthly as new tools launch and existing ones change pricing, features, or quality.
What We Cover
We focus exclusively on AI tools that help solopreneurs work smarter — writing tools, scheduling tools, social media tools, SEO tools, email marketing tools, video tools, bookkeeping tools, CRMs, and everything in between. If it can replace or augment a hire you can’t afford to make yet, we’ve probably tested it.
